Guide to Authors:

  
   1)   The article should add to knowledge in accord with the interests of the Journal.  The author or co-author should adhere to the following:

       a-          Manuscript should be written in a correct manner either in Arabic or English language.

      b-          Sign a copyright release to initiate the review process.

       c-          Sign a declaration that the article has not been submitted for another publisher for publication.

      d-          The text should not exceed 5000 words or 15-page size A4, double-spaced on one side only, of good quality white paper, measuring roughly 22 cm by 28 cm (8.5 inches by 11 inches). Font size to be selected: Simplified Arabic size 12, and Times New Romans size 12, to be submitted in a diskette 3½" in MS Word for Windows.

       e-          Send the original manuscript, and three copies, to the Editorial Board of the Journal. The copies may be photocopied on both sides of the page.

       f-           Submit an abstract of 200 words in length in English and Arabic languages, each on a separate sheet of paper.

       g-          Submit a short resume about one’s self and affiliation.

       h-          Paper not to be forwarded to another publisher before a final decision has been taken on it and conveyed to author or co-author.

        i-           Adhere to copyright laws and bylaws as passed by SUST Senate on its meeting number 53 dated 26th February 1997.

       j-           Adhere to copyright laws of the country and related laws signed by the Republic of the Sudan.

      k-          Manuscript should include the following:

  • Abstract as related to research findings.
  • Introduction.
  • Literature review and scientific background.
  • Objectives and research questions.
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results supported by diagrams, figures, photographs, tables and computer programs.
  • Discussions and conclusions.
  • References
  • Numbering articles in the format acceptable by the journal
  • Outline symbols used.
  • Send two original graphical diagrams of manuscript (or as glossy print). Diagrams not to be folded. List captions for all figures and photographs.
  • Footnotes are to be shown by astrik and placed at bottom of page.
  • Show references, as first used, in text by numbers in square brackets.

      ̃         For journal articles: give items in the following order: author(s), month and year, title of article, journal name in full, city and country of publication, volume number, issue number, and page numbers. Example: Abdel-Rahman, H. A. et.al., (1993) Water conservation in Oman, Water International J., Urbana, USA, Vol. 18(2), pp. 95-102.

      ̃         For books: give items in the following order: author(s), year of publication, chapter title, book title, edition number, volume number, publishers name, city and country of publication, and page number (if applicable). Example: Hamad El-Neel, Y.F., and ElHassan, G.A., (1999) Bacteria pathogenic to man, ElFagr Corporation for Information Production, Khartoum..

      ̃         For conference proceedings: give items in the following order: author(s), month and year, article title, proceedings of conference, name of sponsor, volume number, and page numbers. Example: El-Sadig, H.E., et.al., (2000) Education trends, norms and development, conference on technological education and national development (TEND2000), organized by the Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi, 8 to 10 April 2000.

      ̃         For thesis or dissertation: give items in the following order: author(s), year title of thesis, degree, name of university, city and country of university,. Example: Ahmed, N.H., (1999) Simulation model for ships traffic in Port Sudan harbor, M.Sc., College of Science, Sudan University for Science and Technology, Khartoum, Sudan.

      ̃         For personal communication: give items in the following order: name, the two words “personal communication”, month and year.

        l-           Show the definitions to new manuscript-terms appearing in manuscript, and show keywords appropriate to manuscript.

      m-         Use SI system of units.
