Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the enhancement of the slow post-weaning growth of micro-propagated pineapple's propagules after hardening under green house conditions. The plantlets responded positively to the highest level of urea (1.6g/plant). Enhanced growth was obtained by reduction of light intensity when propagules were placed under 50% netting, mounting the clear plastic of the greenhouse. A volume of 1250cc loamy soil supported growth satisfactorily. Extra humidity was not needed in the greenhouse as coverless propagules performed better, and the plastic cover might have imposed a reduce-tion in light intensity below optima. In addition, irrigation with distilled water promoted growth in comparison to a moderately saline water source (EC  1.85mmoh/cm).
